Indiana suffered its third loss of the 2021 season on Saturday against Penn State.
The Hoosiers were shutout 24-0 in a game that never felt within reach. Indiana is now 2-3 on the season.
After the game, star linebacker Micah McFadden said he hoped this game would serve as a wake-up call for the team.
“A lot of guys need to take a look of themselves in the mirror and decide what’s going to become of this,” McFadden told reporters after the game.
“We’ve got to take a self-reflecting look on everything that we’re doing.”

Micah McFadden the first Hoosier out of the locker room, which given his comments sounds like it was a serious, somber place:

Indiana will now look forward in attempt to salvage its 2021 campaign. Expectations were high after nearly winning the Big Ten East a year ago.
The Hoosiers still have several though games remaining, including three against ranked opposition: Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State. Indiana will need to win at least one of those games — plus defeat Maryland, Minnesota and Purdue — if it wants to make a bowl game.
McFadden and the Hoosiers will be back in action during Week 7 when they host Michigan State.
