It has been a tough year for Indiana football in 2021. The long list of injuries has plagued the Hoosiers all season long, and now they’ve lost a couple of players to the transfer portal.

According to a report from 247Sports, defensive lineman C.J. Person and edge rusher D.K. Bonhomme entered the portal on Tuesday. Both joined the team in 2019.

Person was a 3-star recruit from Montgomery Catholic Preparatory High School in Montgomery, Alabama per the 247Sports Composite. In his career at Indiana, Person had 16 total tackles, 9 solo tackles, 7 assisted tackles, and 1 pass deflection.

Bonhomme was also a 3-star recruit out of Clearwater Academy International High School from St. Catherines, Ontario per the 247Sports Composite. He had 17 total tackles, 12 solo tackles, 5 assisted tackles, and 1 sack during his time in Bloomington.

We’ll see how the loss of these 2 defenders affects Indiana in the long run. The Hoosiers are 2-9 on the season, 0-8 in Big Ten play. They close out the year against Purdue on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
