Indiana officially hires new offensive coordinator
Indiana officially welcomed its next offensive coordinator. Coach Walt Bell was formally named to the position on Dec. 9.
Bell is thrilled to begin his tenure at Indiana and develop the Hoosiers into an explosive offense:
“I’m incredibly excited to work for a man like Tom Allen,” Bell said. “Everyone I’ve talked with has raved about Indiana, and I’m ready to start building relationships with our players and working with this staff. I’m really looking forward to coaching in the Big Ten again and can’t wait to get started.”
Welcome to Bloomington, Coach Bell!

Bell was most recently the head coach at the University of Massachusetts for the last three seasons, with prior stints as an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Arkansas State (2014-15), the University of Maryland (2016-17), and Florida State (2018).
After finishing 6-2 in the pandemic-shortened season, Indiana regressed to a 2-10 overall record in 2021.
