Indiana is losing a reserve offensive lineman to the NCAA transfer portal.

John Blau of the Bloomington Herald Times reported on Wednesday that offensive lineman Britt Beery has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal and will explore opportunities elsewhere. He appeared in 23 career games for the Hoosiers.

Beery is will be a graduate transfer, so he’ll be immediately eligible for the 2021 season.

Beery spent four seasons at Indiana, redshirting his first year in 2017. Because of the NCAA’s blanket waiver for fall athletes during the 2020 season, the offensive lineman will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Last season, Beery appeared in all eight games during IU’s 6-2 season. In 2019, he played in 11 of the Hoosiers’ 13 contests and made appearances in four games as a redshirt freshman in 2018.

When he arrived at Indiana, Beery started his career as a defensive lineman. He transitioned to the offensive line during his first year in Bloomington.
