A former top prospect out of the state of Indiana announced Wednesday evening that he is entering the transfer portal.

The player is Khristian Lander, a former 5-star point guard out of Evansville, Indiana. Originally a member of the 2021 recruiting class, Lander reclassified to 2020 and spent two years in the program.

“First of all I want to thank Hoosier Nation and fans for all of the support these last two years,” wrote Lander in a note on Twitter. “After talking with my family I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal.”

Lander was ranked the 26th overall prospect nationally, the No. 6 point guard in the country and the top player in Indiana coming out of high school, according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. Lander appeared in 39 games over two seasons but appeared in just 13 games this season and averaged just under 9 minutes per game in those appearances.

He went on to share a special note to his teammates from this past season and noted a special bond with that team:

It will be interesting to see where he winds up for next season and beyond.
