The Indiana offense has taken another major hit.

During his weekly press conference on Monday, IU head coach Tom Allen said that Hoosiers running back Cole Gest is out for the rest of the 2018 season after suffering an ACL injury on Saturday against FIU.

With last year’s leading rusher Morgan Ellison still suspended, Indiana is down to Stevie Scott and Mike Majette to carry a majority of the workload. Allen did not provide an update on Ellison’s status.

Gest had just five carries for 17 yards in the Hoosiers’ 38-28 win over the Panthers.

Last year, Gest was the team’s second-leading rusher, totaling 428 yards and a touchdown on 93 carries for Indiana.

The Hoosiers are currently 1-0 and will host Virginia on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
