Five Indiana players have been suspended for Tuesday night’s road contest against Northwestern. Jeff Rabjohns of Peegs.com reported the news just minutes before tip-off.

The Hoosiers will be without Xavier Johnson, Parker Stewart, Tamar Bates, Michael Durr and Khristian Lander. No explanation was provided, other than the five players suspended are out because of disciplinary issues.

Indiana is also without Rob Phinisee, who has been suffering from a foot injury.

Johnson is the top assist man for the Hoosiers this season, averaging 4.5 per game this season. He’s also proven to be an effective scorer, averaging 10.6 points per game, the third-best average on the team.

Stewart is averaging 6.9 points and 2 rebounds per game. Bates and Lander have been role players in the backcourt for the Hoosiers this season. Durr has come in and provided valuable minutes in the post, particularly on the defensive side.

Indiana enters Tuesday’s game 16-6 and 7-5 in B1G play. Northwestern sits 11-10 and 4-8 in league play.
