Indiana TE to retire from football due to repeated knee injuries
Tough news for Indiana fans. Former 3-star recruit Sam Daugstrup is retiring from football due to repeated injuries. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end out of Cleveland was a member of the Hoosiers’ 2020 class. He was a three-year football letterwinner at St. Ignatius High School.

“In light of tearing my ACL for a 4th time, myself along with medical trainers agree that it is in the best interest of my future health to medically retire from football,” Daugstrup said in a Tweet.
“I’ve played football ever since I can remember and have not regretted it once, and still don’t,” he said. This game has taught me so much about life and has formed relationships with so many amazing people that will last a lifetime.”
Daugstrup appeared in one game this season against Idaho. He was mostly used on special teams and offense in the fourth quarter against the Vandals.
Tough news for Daugustrup. Indiana fans are sure to wish him the best in his future.
