Indiana to add two key off-field staffers with SEC ties, per report
Indiana is poised to add a pair of key off-field staffers with SEC ties to Curt Cignetti’s coaching staff.
According to John Brice with Football Scoop, the Hoosiers are set to hire Matt Wilson and Blake Jackson in off-field roles. Wilson, a well-regarded personnel expert, is poised to join the Hoosiers in a general manager-type role per Brice. Jackson’s role is expected to be as a director of football operations role.
The two staffers previously spent time together at Tennessee. Brice specifically pointed out Jackson’s value with the Vols spanned multiple head coaches.

As for Wilson, he has previous stops at Tennessee, Mississippi State, a previous stay at IU and a stint at NC State. He previously served the Hoosiers under Tom Allen when Kalen DeBoer and Nick Sheridan cycled through the program as offensive coordinator. Jackson most recently served in a director of football operations role on Butch Jones’ Arkansas State staff.
Cignetti has an elite track record throughout his coaching career, though rebuilding Indiana in the expanded Big Ten era will be tough. We’ll see how he fares, but he’s making some strong moves in his staff and recruiting early on.
