Indiana WR, former 4-star prospect hops into NCAA transfer portal
Indiana freshman receiver Rashawn Williams has announced his intent to leave Bloomington.
Williams was the highest-rated prospect in IU’s 2020 class, and was considered a four-star, one of the most well-regarded prospects in the 2020 class overall.
Can confirm IU freshman receiver Rashawn Williams has put his name in the transfer portal. The native of Detroit did not see the field this season.

As a recruit, reports on Williams described him as a physical receiver that was ready to contribute right away, but he saw no action for the Hoosiers this season. He received offers from Boston College, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Purdue, Michigan and Michigan State.
Williams’ announcement puts him in company with a long list of other college football players hoping to improve their playing situation through the portal. Last week it was reported that over 100 players had opted to transfer from their current schools, potentially flooding the market with players looking to do the same thing.
With the NCAA adapting eligibility rules due to the COVD-19 pandemic, and the cancellations of senior seasons, the search for a new spot at a new school can be a challenge.
