No B1G wide receiver is having as big of a year as Indiana’s Whop Philyor, at least through the first two months of the season.

After eight games this season, Philyor leads the B1G in receptions (57) and receiving yards (737) and has also hauled in three touchdown catches. He’s a huge reason why the Hoosiers are 6-2 on the season and have produced the top passing offense in the B1G this year.

Philyor has totaled over 10 catches and 100 yards in three of Indiana’s last four games, including a 14-catch, 178-yard performance last Saturday against Nebraska. With his recent surge, the IU receiver has earned some national recognition.

Philyor has been added to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List this week, an honor presented to the best receiver in college football. He joins a slew of other B1G receivers who made the list earlier in the season.

In his first two seasons in Bloomington, Philyor had a role in the offense but was not a primary target. He totaled 56 receptions for 570 yards and four touchdowns in his first two years with the Hoosiers. He’s already surpassed the catch and yardage totals through the first eight games in 2019.

The Hoosiers are back on the field Saturday to take on Northwestern.
