Indiana’s Ian Thomas named Mackey Award Tight End of the Week

The awards keep coming for Indiana football after a big 52-17 win over Georgia Southern last Saturday.

Ian Thomas received recognition for his efforts in the Hoosiers’ Week 4 win and was named the John Mackey Award Tight End of the Week. Thomas led Indiana in receiving, catching two passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.

Indiana’s J-Shun Harris was tabbed the B1G Special Teams Player of the Week and Morgan Ellison was named the Freshman of the Week back on Monday.

Thomas has been an instrumental part of the Hoosiers’ offense through the first three games of the season. He’s caught 11 passes for 163 yards, ranking second on the team. He leads Indiana in touchdown receptions with three.

Indiana returns to conference play this week, traveling to Happy Valley to play No. 4 Penn State.
