Indiana’s Michael Penix Jr. will be one of several college quarterbacks helping out with this year’s Manning Passing Academy. Jeff Duncan of The Athletic tweeted out a list of names of counselors for this year’s camp.

While the list was not complete, Penix will be one of several participants as a camp counselor this year. The event is an annual camp to help young athletes improve their game. It was not held in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following college quarterbacks were all included on Duncan’s list:

  • Myles Brennan, LSU
  • Max Johnson, LSU
  • Matt Corral, Ole Miss
  • J.T. Daniels, Georgia
  • D.J. Uiagalelei, Clemson
  • Dillon Gabriel, UCF
  • Levi Lewis, Louisiana Lafayette
  • Grayson McCall, Coastal Carolina
  • Michael Pratt, Tulane
  • Sam Howell, North Carolina

Penix will be entering his third season as the starting quarterback at Indiana in 2021. He helped lead the Hoosiers to a 5-1 record during the 2020 season, but suffered a season-ending knee injury in a win over Maryland. IU ended the year 6-2.

In six games last year, Penix threw for 1,645 yards and 14 touchdowns with just 4 interceptions. He was also credited with 2 rushing touchdowns.

Entering the 2021 season, Penix is considered to be one of the top quarterbacks returning in the B1G, if he’s 100% healthy after the season-ending injury. He’s also an outside candidate for the Heisman Trophy.

The Manning Passing Academy is scheduled for July 15-18.
