Injured Indiana WR dressed ahead of game against Maryland
Indiana football wasn’t sure if D.J. Matthews Jr. was going to be able to play against Maryland. Matthews missed the Michigan game in Week 6 due to a hamstring injury.
Indy Star’s Dustin Dopirak stated that Matthews was dressed for the game. Nothing is confirmed yet, but it’s still a good sign for the Hoosiers. Matthews was listed as a game-time decision heading into the game by HC Tom Allen.
Matthews has 198 yards receiving with 2 touchdowns on the season so far. Matthews last played against Cincinnati and has appeared in four games for Indiana in 2022.
… There he is. D.J. Matthews is dressed out. Doesn’t guarantee that he plays, but he’s at least in pads at this point in warm ups.

His first season as a Hoosier was in 2021. Matthews joined the program as a transfer after spending his first few seasons at Florida State.
Indiana is 3-3 and has lost three in a row including two B1G games to Michigan and Nebraska.
We’ll see if the team decides to give out an update on Matthews closer to kickoff. Maryland-Indiana kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
