Jalen Hood-Schifino has reached a decision on whether or not he’ll be returning to Indiana for another year. The Indiana guard announced his plans via his Instagram account on Friday.

Hood-Schifino decided to forgo his remaining college eligibility and declare for the 2023 NBA Draft. Here’s what Hood-Schifino had to say about the move:

“From start to finish, my freshman season has been nothing short of amazing. To the fans in Bloomington, you welcomed me with open arms. I can’t thank you enough. This is an experience I’ll take with me and remember forever. No matter where basketball takes me, I’ll always be an Indiana Hoosier. I’m ready to take this next step in my basketball career and declare for the 2023 NBA Draft.”

Hood-Schifino was a former 5-star CG from the 2022 recruiting class per the 247Sports Composite. Hood-Schifino appeared in 32 games for the Hoosiers this season, averaging a little over 13 points per game. He also averaged 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists every game.

Indiana reached the second round of March Madness before losing to Miami 85-69. Despite losing to the Hurricanes, Hood-Schifino finished the game with 19 points and 5 rebounds.

Hood comes in at 6-foot-6, 213 pounds and will be heading to the professional ranks after one season in Bloomington. He will be missed by Hoosier fans.
