Jalen Hood-Schifino has quickly cemented himself as one of the top freshmen in the country and he’s affirming his case early in Indiana’s home matchup against No. 24 Rutgers Tuesday night.

In a pretty bizarre set of circumstances, Hood-Schifino saw a circus layup go in to increase the Hoosiers’ early lead. Trey Galloway corralled a loose ball that went off the foot of an official, found Hood-Schifino in transition and let the former 5-star recruit do the rest.

Hood-Schifino went around the world to pass one defender, finishing a wild reverse layup that didn’t hit the backboard. See for yourself below:

Just absurd.

Hood-Schifino is already up to 5 points with 2 rebounds and 2 assists, with Indiana leading 27-14 at Assembly Hall. A win against Rutgers puts Indiana firmly as the No. 2 team in the B1G. Rutgers sits at 9-4 in the conference while Indiana and a host of other B1G schools sit at 7-5 in conference play.
