Jaylin Lucas is heading to the transfer portal after two years at Indiana, the elite speedster confirmed in a note on social media.

Upon arriving in Bloomington, Lucas delivered an immediate impact as a return man and versatile offensive weapon. He has 3 return touchdowns during a 2-year career with the Hoosiers.

“First and foremost, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Coach Allen and the entire coaching staff for their unwavering support and belief in me,” wrote Lucas. “The chance to pursue both my academic and athletic ambitions at Indiana University has been an incredible experience that I deeply appreciate. However, after careful consideration, I’ve decided to enter my name in the transfer portal.”

Lucas will have 2 years of eligibility wherever he winds up for his next stop.

In addition to serving as the kick returner for the Hoosiers, Lucas was the team’s second-leading receiver with 247 yards in 2023. He finished with 522 yards of offense and 4 touchdowns.

Through two seasons, Lucas has 875 scrimmage yards and is averaging 5.3 yards per touch with 6 touchdowns. He also averaged 27 yards per kick return with 3 touchdowns.

Lucas is likely to have a number of major suitors in the portal with his elite speed and work in the return game.
