Joel Klatt has defended Indiana in recent weeks, talking about how the Hoosiers haven’t been treated well by the AP Poll despite still being undefeated.

Now, the FOX college football analyst is pointing the finger at the College Football Playoff committee, which released its initial rankings on Tuesday night and put Indiana all the way down at No. 8 despite being 9-0. First-year head coach Curt Cignetti has worked wonders this fall in Bloomington, but somehow some still see Indiana football the same old way even though Cignetti has seemingly changed that in a few short months.

The Hoosiers were still ranked behind one-loss teams like Texas, Penn State and Tennessee in Tuesday’s rankings, and Klatt wasn’t happy about that.

“The inconsistency of the College Football Playoff committee is what is so infuriating,” said Klatt on his podcast on Wednesday.

Klatt pointed straight at Indiana — and at BYU, for that matter — as being a victim of “brand bias” by the committee.

“What other team has the type of performance resume that Indiana (has)?” Klatt asked in his rant. “They’ve beaten every team they’ve played by 14 or more. This is a really freakin’ good football team.”

The Hoosiers have 3 regular-season games left to continue trying to make a good impression, starting with Saturday’s home matchup with defending national champion Michigan. The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
