Jordan Geronimo tabs incoming Indiana freshman as 'NBA sleeper' to watch this season
Jordan Geronimo is entering his third season with the Hoosiers. Entering the 2022-23 season, Indiana is hoping to build on the success of an NCAA Tournament appearance during Mike Woodson’s first season with the program.
One of the key building blocks for Woodson moving forward is the 2022 recruiting class. That group was ranked 10th nationally and is headlined by 5-star combo guard Jalen Hood-Schifino.
On Tuesday, Geronimo met with the media. Among other things, he was asked about a potential breakout player to watch for the Hoosiers this season.
Geronimo included freshman Kaleb Banks, saying that Banks “has game.” He also listed Banks as an “NBA sleeper” due to his talent and work to this point.
Jordan Geronimo on a “breakout player” that people aren’t talking about: “I like Kaleb Banks a lot… I feel like the rate at which he’s working out and he’s getting better, and what he has right now — his physical abilities — I feel like he’s gonna be a sleeper.” #iubb

Geronimo, concluding: “I like Kaleb Banks a lot. I think he has game. … I feel like he’s an NBA sleeper.”
People keep bringing Banks up in this regard, which I likewise find fascinating. #iubb

Banks is a 4-star power forward out of Fayetteville, Georgia. Listed at 6-foot-8, Banks was the No. 15 PF in the country for the class of 2022. It will be interesting to see if Banks is able to produce some big things for the Hoosiers this season.
