VIDEO: Former IU receiver catches first NFL touchdown
It would’ve been natural to assume that when Cody Latimer was selected by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft, his first career touchdown catch would come from Peyton Manning.
And that it would come in 2014.
But the former Indiana receiver has never got into the end zone in limited snaps with Manning under center. On Sunday, Latimer started in place of the injured Emmanuel Sanders and Brock Osweiler got the start in place of the injured Manning.
The former scout team duo connected for Latimer’s first career score against the Chicago Bears:
Brock Osweiler is out here slinging touchdowns.
10-yard strike to Cody Latimer? Too easy. #DENvsCHI https://t.co/XKZar6fRKI— NFL (@NFL) November 22, 2015
Perhaps with Sanders dealing with an ankle injury, it’ll open the door for Latimer to jumpstart his career playing alongside Osweiler.
