Saturday didn’t end quite as planned for Indiana. Despite a big lead in the second half, the Hoosiers were beaten on a last-second 3 by Iowa’s Jordan Bohannon, falling 80-77 in the semifinal round of the B1G Tournament.

Yes, IU wanted to compete for a B1G Tournament title on Sunday. The good news, though, is that the Hoosiers likely did enough over the last three days to secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament. It will be the first time they’ve played in March Madness since 2016.

After the game, Jackson-Davis had a short message to send out to IU fans. As you can imagine, it was pretty well received.

“Let’s Dance,” Jackson-Davis wrote.

Indiana entered this week firmly on the NCAA Tournament bubble. In most projections, the Hoosiers were listed in either “Last Four In” or “First Four Out” categories.

Wins over Michigan and top-seeded Illinois in the first two rounds of the B1G Tournament almost certainly solidified the Hoosiers’ spot in the NCAA Tournament. It should just be a matter of seeding.

There are no certainties when it comes to March Madness, so there might still be some nerves in Bloomington. But Indiana is playing its best basketball at the right time. It’s going to be tough for the committee to keep the Hoosiers out.
