If any Indiana fan is still worried about Michael Penix Jr. coming into the season, well, worry no more.

Penix Jr. spoke to the media earlier on Monday and confirmed that he is 100% ready for the Hoosiers opener against Iowa.

He suffered a torn ACL during the Hoosiers win against Maryland in late November of 2020 and their offense just wasn’t the same after.

They weren’t a big threat in the passing game as backup Jack Tuttle only had 362 yards passing with 2 touchdowns after Penix Jr. went out. Before the injury, Penix Jr. was having a sensational year as he has over 1,600 yards passing with 14 touchdowns to 4 interceptions.

The Hoosiers will have to hope that he can actually stay healthy this season though, especially if they want to contend in their division. Penix Jr. has now had 3 straight season-ending injuries, 2 of them involving his right knee.

Kickoff for the Hoosiers opener against Iowa will be at 3:30 p.m. ET this coming Saturday.
