Michael Penix Jr. throws tight 28-yard TD pass in return for Hoosiers
Questionable with an apparent arm injury, it was announced shortly before kickoff redshirt freshman Michael Penix Jr. would start at quarterback for the Indiana Hoosiers vs. the No. 25 Michigan State Spartans on Saturday at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing.
Not showing any ill effects, Penix found junior Whop Philyor with a beautiful 28-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at seven in the first quarter.

A 247Sports Composite three-star in the 2018 class, Penix appeared in three games for the Hoosiers a year ago, completing 21-34 passes (61.7%) for 219 yards and a touchdown.
Winning the starting job over redshirt junior Peyton Ramsey in fall camp, he started each of the first two games before leaving the September 7 victory over Eastern Illinois with an injury.
Michigan State has since retaken the lead, 14-7, on a five-yard pass from redshirt senior Brian Lewerke to classmate Darrell Stewart Jr. The game is currently airing on BTN.
