Mike Woodson went to the podium after Indiana’s disappointing 91-89 loss to Iowa. Woodson talked about why he decided to put Race Thompson on Iowa’s Kris Murray.

Thompson finished the game with 9 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist before being forced to leave with an apparent knee injury. Woodson explained that the putting Thompson on Murray made sense matchup wise and the team knew that coming in.

“Race is a better matchup on Murray and we knew that coming in,” said Woodson.

Murray had a stellar showing against the Hoosiers. Murray ended the game with a 30-point double-double with 10 rebounds. Trayce Jackson-Davis nearly had a double-double as well finishing with 30 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists.

This loss moves Indiana to 10-4 on the season. Iowa earned its ninth win of the year against the Hoosiers.

Indiana fans will be hoping that Thompson’s injury was not as bad as it looked. Thompson currently averages 8.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
