Mike Woodson provides injury update for Indiana's Rob Phinisee
Rob Phinisee missed Indiana’s win on the road against Maryland, and it doesn’t look like Phinisee will be ready to return any time soon.
On Friday, head coach Mike Woodson provided an update to Phinisee’s status. Woodson announced the guard would not be able to play Saturday against Illinois, and his absence could extend beyond the weekend.
According to Dustin Dopirak with the Bloomington Herald-Times and Indy Star, Woodson labeled Phinisee’s injury as a plantar fasciitis problem that will need to be nursed back into action.
Woodson on Phinisee: “Rob will not be available, and to be honest, I don’t know when Rob is coming back. He’s got a plantar fasciiitis problem and we’ve got to nurse that back.”

Indiana is on a 2-game winning streak and is up to 7-4 in conference play, but Illinois and star big man Kofi Cockburn present an entirely different challenge on Saturday. Phinisee has appeared in 17 games this season and is averaging 5.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists off the bench for Indiana.
