Hoosiers running back Stephen Carr seems bullish on his team going into this season and he has good reason to be.

Indiana blew away everyone’s expectations of them in 2020 when they finished 6-2 overall (6-1 in the B1G). They also have almost all of their starters from last year returning, especially quarterback Michael Penix Jr.

Carr said as much to the media on Thursday afternoon as he’s amazed by all the talent that’s there.

Carr has 4 years of starting experience with South Carolina and will be a 5th year senior this year with the Hoosiers. In 2020, he only had 46 carries for 176 yards and 2 touchdowns, though his previous 3 seasons look a lot better. From 2017-2019, Carr had at least 300 yards rushing and 10 combined rushing touchdowns. His best season came in 2019 when he had 72 carries for 396 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Carr will get his first chance to help the Hoosiers win a lot of games this season when they open up against Iowa on Sept. 4. Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m. ET.
