Emery Simmons transferred to Indiana from North Carolina in December of 2021. He’s already learning some very valuable lessons from new receivers coach Adam Henry it seems per Pete DiPrimio of IUHoosiers.com.

Simmons was actually committed to the Hoosiers back in 2018, before he ended up going to North Carolina instead. Now he’s back in Bloomington, and is trying to learn everything he can from Henry. Henry has had similar roles with LSU (2012-2014), the San Francisco 49ers (2015), New York Giants (2016-2017), Cleveland Browns (2018-2019), and Dallas Cowboys (2020-2021).

Here’s what Simmons had to say about his new WR coach:

“You have no choice, but have respect for a guy like Coach Henry,” said Simmons. “From his background and where he’s come from and the guys he’s interacted with, no choice but respect him. I take nuggets from him every day. Trying to piece those nuggets together. I know in the long run, the end goal is to get where he just came from.

Simmons appeared in 30 games for the Tarheels before transferring to Indiana. In his career, he has 516 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns so far.
