Loyola-Chicago upset No. 1-seeded Illinois on Sunday afternoon, pushing the Ramblers into the Sweet 16 for the second time in four years.

Of course, Loyola went all the way to the Final Four the last time they were in this spot. Porter Moser’s 2018 squad ultimately fell to Michigan in the national semifinal.

After that run, Moser chose to stay with Loyola to build a consistent winner. The result? Three more 20-win seasons and potentially another deep NCAA Tournament run.

But if Moser decides to pursue a bigger job, this might be the right time to make that leap.

After the Ramblers’ victory over the Illini, fans of Indiana and several college basketball media members started to question: Why not the Hoosiers?

Indiana needs a new coach after parting ways with Archie Miller earlier this month. Moser is clearly an excellent talent evaluator and his offensive scheme puts pressure on defenses on March. Loyola’s defense is also elite, ranking No. 1 in the nation this season in points per game allowed.

There hasn’t been a lot of news out of the Indiana coaching search in the last week, but Thad Matta and Mike Woodson are two names reportedly under consideration. There will likely be more as IU’s administration casts a wide net in search of its next head coach.

Here’s a small sampling of fans and media on Twitter suggesting Indiana take a hard look at Moser.
