Former Indiana football player Chris Beaty was shot and killed in Downtown Indianapolis over the weekend, according to a report from the Indianapolis Star. He was 38 years old.

Beaty was a defensive lineman at Indiana from 2000-04. He was a native of Indianapolis, playing high school football at Cathedral. He managed nightclubs in Indianapolis.
