Indiana University has found its next athletic director.

Current Deputy Director of Athletics Scott Dolson is expected to be named the school’s next athletic director, according to a report from Jon Blau of The Herald Times. He will replace Fred Glass, who announced earlier this academic year that he plans to step down from his position.

Dolson has been Indiana’s deputy director and chief operating officer since 2009. Dolson was previously the director of the Indiana University Varsity Club for seven years, as well.

In addition to working for the university, Dolson is a graduate of Indiana University, receiving a degree in management. He was also a manager for the men’s basketball program during his time in Bloomington as a student.

Glass had been Indiana’s athletic director since Jan. 1, 2009. He and Dolson have worked together for the past decade, which could result in a smooth transition for the athletics department at IU.

Dolson’s appointment as the school’s next AD will be subject to approval at the next board meeting, which is scheduled for April.
