Indiana starting cornerback Jaylin Williams was arrested on Friday night on preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated and endangerment. Jon Blau of the Bloomington Herald Times reported the news on Saturday morning.
Per Blau’s report, Williams was booked into the Monroe County ail around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 and less than .15. He was also charged with OWI endangerment. Both are misdemeanor charges.
“Indiana University Athletics and the IU football program are aware of the arrest of Jaylin Williams,” Indiana said in a statement. “IU Athletics will continue to gather facts, cooperate with and monitor the legal process, and take further action as the evolving situation warrants.”

The bond for Williams was set at $1,000.
Williams started in five of Indiana’s eight games during the 2020 season and was a second-team All-B1G selection. He was credited with 30 tackles, 5 passes defended, 4 interceptions, 2 tackles for loss and a sack. He helped the Hoosiers complete a 6-2 season.
During his career in Bloomington, Williams has totaled 71 tackles, 12 passes defended and 6 interceptions.
