Indianapolis Metro Police are investigating the suspicious deaths of the parents of Indiana University wide receiver Cam Wilson, according to a report from The Herald Bulletin.

Per the report, Cassondra Wilson, the mother of Cam Wilson, was found dead in her residence from a fatal shooting on Friday night in Columbus, Indiana. Cam Wilson’s father, Troy Wilson, was also found dead in Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon. Troy Wilson was the ex-husband of Cassondra Wilson.

According to The Herald Bulletin, Troy Wilson is considered a person of interest in the investigation of Cassondra Wilson’s death.

Cam Wilson is a redshirt junior for the Hoosiers. He initially started his college career at Illinois State, which competes at the FCS level.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Cam and his family,” head coach Tom Allen said in a statement. “We’ve been in constant communication with Cam once we learned of this tragedy. He is a tremendous young man, and we will continue to assist and support him in any and all ways. We ask everyone to respect Cam and his family’s privacy during this difficult time.”

Cam Wilson appeared in three games for Indiana last season, playing against Ball State, Eastern Illinois and Rutgers. He has been named the scout-team player of the week three times in his career in Bloomington.
