Former Indiana head coach Archie Miller may be back on the sidelines again soon.

Wednesday, Pete Thamel of ESPN reported Rhode Island is targeting the ex-IU head coach to be the next coach of the men’s basketball team. Miller was not on a sideline during the 2021-22 season after being fired by Indiana following the 2020-21 season.

Miller spent four seasons in Bloomington, never reaching the NCAA Tournament. Prior to that, he was the head coach at Dayton.

In four seasons, Miller guided the Hoosiers to a 67-58 record with one NIT appearance. Indiana struggled in B1G play, posting a 33-45 record and never finishing better than .500 in league play.

Indiana went 12-15 with a 7-12 record in B1G play in his final season with the program.

Miller enjoyed plenty of success while he was the leader at Dayton for six seasons. He guided the Flyers to four NCAA Tournament appearances and one NIT bid. The Flyers finished with a winning record every year and scored at least 24 victories four times.

Over his 10 seasons coaching, Miller has compiled a 206-121 record.
