The salaries for Indiana’s new offensive coordinator Walt Bell and defensive coordinator Chad Wilt have both been announced. CNHI’s Kevin Brockway reported the news on Tuesday morning.

Bell, the former UMass head coach and Maryland offensive coordinator, is set to make $700,000. He will earn a base salary of $450,000 and receive $250,000 in marketing and promotion money.

Along with being the offensive coordinator, Bell will also be responsible for coaching quarterbacks. He replaces Nick Sheridan, who had been the Hoosiers’ OC for the past two seasons. Because IU struggled to find the end zone during a 2-10 year in 2021, head coach Tom Allen decided to make a change.

Dustin Dopirak of the Bloomington Herald-Times reported on the salary of Wilt, the team’s new defensive coordinator. The ex-Minnesota defensive line coach is replacing Charlton Warren, who left Indiana for North Carolina.

Wilt is set to make $550,000 for the upcoming season. Not only will Wilt be the defensive coordinator, he’ll also be coaching linebackers. Allen has also said that he will regain control of the defensive play-calling for the upcoming season.

Also reported was the salary of new defensive line coach Paul Randolph, who comes to Bloomington via Texas Tech. Randolph will make $375,000.
