Indiana is 30 minutes away from history.

The Hoosiers haven’t defeated Michigan in their last 24 attempts — since 1987. In that game, Indiana won 14-10 in Bloomington.

There have been some close calls over the years. 24-16 in 1991, 34-31 in 1999, 36-33 in 2009 and 27-20 in 2017, to name a few. But it looks like 2020 might finally be the year that the streak is busted.

Indiana currently leads Michigan 24-7 at the half thanks to a great performance from quarterback Michael Penix Jr. The Indiana signal caller is 22-of-32 for 254 yards and three touchdowns so far.

A lot of that production has been to senior receiver Ty Fryfogle, who has seven catches for 142 yards and a touchdown in the first half.

The Indiana defense has also been excellent. Michigan quarterback Joe Milton was just 4-of-13 for 96 yards in the first half. He hasn’t been effective as a runner, either, losing three yards on two carries.

This would also be the first time Indiana has beaten a ranked opponent by double digits since 1993.

Indiana is looking to move to 3-0 on the season.
