The Tampa area has been a strong recruiting area for Indiana head coach Tom Allen, and he’s gone to South Florida to get another addition to the 2020 class.

Monday afternoon, three-star defensive back Aamaris Brown verbally committed to the Hoosiers, making his announcement via Twitter. He held offers from Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Rutgers, Pitt and Iowa State, among several others.

“I want to thank all the coaches who have recruited me throughout this process and gave me the opportunity to play at their school,” Brown wrote on Twitter. “With that being said I am excited to announce that I am 100% committed to Indiana University.”

Indiana now has nine hard commits in the 2020 class. It ranks 59th nationally and 11th in the B1G.

Brown is a 6-foot, 190-pound safety out of Seffner, Florida. He’s ranked around one of the top 215 players out of Florida and is No. 116 among safeties in the 2020 class. He’s the first Florida native to commit to the Hoosiers in this cycle.
