Tom Allen released a statement on the hiring of new running game coordinator/OL coach Bob Bostad. Bostad was previously on the Wisconsin staff for the same role.

Allen welcomed Bostad to Bloomington with open arms. Bostad has experience at the NFL level with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans.

“Bob is one of the top offensive line coaches in the county,” said Allen. “He has developed All-Americans, draft picks, and NFL All-Pros, and contributed to elite offenses on championship teams. We welcome Bob and his family to Bloomington!”

Bostad moved to the OL coach position in Madison after spending his first few seasons there as the ILB coach.

Allen will be hoping that Bostad can fix Indiana’s problems on the offensive line. Hoosier QBs were sacked 38 times this season per NCAA.com. The running game was also not able to get going, as the team averaged 110.8 yards rushing per game.

Is Bostad the answer to Indiana’s OL troubles?
