Tom Allen discusses Indiana's 'terrible' tackling against Ball State
The Hoosiers escaped with a win in Week 1, but they were pushed to the brink by Ball State.
Thankfully, Indiana was able to ice the game with a late Logan Justus field goal. Being 1-0 is always preferred to starting the season with a loss, but there’s no denying the Hoosiers have a number of things to clean up.

One thing head coach Tom Allen was particularly upset about was the tackling of Indiana’s defense. Allen made sure to express his disappointment in the effort and labeled it “terrible” by the Hoosiers:
Tom Allen on the tackling: "I thought it was terrible. I was really disappointed in that part of it."

While he was disappointed with the performance, Allen does have a few ideas on how to fix the problem. When it comes to shoulder tackles, he said players who do not wrap up will simply not play:
Allen “shoulder tackles to me that’s an easy fix. If they are not going to wrap up they are not going to play.” #iufb

Hopefully, the defense gets these issues straightened out before B1G play begins.
