Kane Wommack is Indiana’s defensive coordinator.
Wommack, at 32-years-old, has plenty to learn. However, he had the job he has for a reason. He is capable and he is talented. He knows how to coach defense.
On Saturday against Michigan State, the Hoosiers allowed 40 points to Michigan State in a 40-31 defeat. Indiana head coach Tom Allen wasn’t happy with the performance in its entirety, and at one point during the game, had a “fiery” exchange with Wommack:

On Monday, Allen talked about the exchange during his weekly presser:
Allen an interaction with Wommack on sidelines. “I’m not going to apologize for being fiery.” Said it’s part of what Wommack signed up for when he took over as DC #iufb

Allen is Allen. He is who he is. And he said on Monday that those kind of exchanges are part of what Wommack signed up for.
Allen is going to get after his assistants if he feels they aren’t doing their job. And ask any coach in college football — Allen surely isn’t the only head coach to do this.
Indiana is off for Week 6 and is scheduled to host Rutgers on Saturday, Oct. 12.
