So far, in his freshman season, Mullen has made five tackles. He isn’t a ball-hawking player intercepting everything. What freshman DB is?
But, Mullen has impressed Allen to this point in his career. Allen was asked about Mullen on Monday:
Allen asked about Tiawan Mullen.
"You never know how a freshman is going to respond … I just thought he had a lot of natural savvy to him, how he played the ball. … There is a moxie and a swagger that he brought." #iufb

More Mullen: "He wasn't promised any playing time early, but he was promised the opportunity to come in and compete to play. …
"He cares a bunch, works his tail off and does everything we ask him to do." #iufb

Playing time and starting early is rarely guaranteed. It wasn’t for Mullen at Indiana, either. But, he has impressed.
