They may be in-state rivals, but they’re still neighbors.

Tom Allen, Indiana head coach, did what good neighbors do, sending condolences to the Indiana State football team after a recent tragedy.

Over the weekend, two Indiana State football team members were killed in a car accident close to campus. Two other football team members that were also in the car survived, but were listed in serious condition.

In a statement, Indiana State head coach Curt Mallory expressed his feelings on the tragedy, stating:

“It is a terrible day for Indiana State football and a devastating loss for both the Eubanks and the VanHooser families. Both young men were quality individuals who were loved and respected by their teammates and this staff. To say they will be missed is an understatement.”

Speaking directly to his counterpart, Indiana coach Tom Allen said:

“I want you to know that we’re just going to continue to be with them in our prayers, and support them in any way we possibly can”.

In spite of the tragedy, the Sycamore’s season will continue, and they will face North Alabama on Thursday, Sept 1.
