Tom Allen sends thoughts and prayers to former assistant coach Mike Hart following Week 6 incident
Bigger than Michigan’s win over Indiana Saturday was the scene caused when Mike Hart, a top assistant at Michigan, was carted off the field after a medical emergency during the game.
Following an Indiana TD, Hart went down on the sideline. The RBs coach was carted off the field in order to receive medical attention. Per Fox College Football’s Jenny Taft, Hart was conscious as he was being taken to the ambulance and gave the thumbs-up sign.
Before arriving back at Michigan, Hart was an assistant coach under Tom Allen at Indiana University. After the game on Saturday, Allen briefly asked Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh about Hart’s condition.
Allen relayed that it looks as though Hart will be ok. Multiple sources reported that Hart actually suffered a seizure, which caused the collapse. Allen sent his thoughts and prayers to his previous assistant coach.
Tom Allen says he asked Jim Harbaugh briefly about Mike Hart, and sends prayers to his old running backs coach. Doesn't know much but says early news is positive: "Prayers for Mike Hart. … I think he's gonna be OK but obviously a concern when he went down." #iufb
