Tom Allen talks coaching with energy, addition of OC Kalen DeBoer and building a program with BTN
There may not be a more energetic coach in the B1G than Indiana’s Tom Allen. He’s known for bouncing around on the sidelines, his fiery pregame speeches and his intense personality during games.
So far, his Hoosiers have taken on a similar personality this season, and it’s led to a 5-2 record through the first seven games. On Saturday, IU will travel to Nebraska to take on the Huskers in Lincoln. A win, and Indiana is going bowling before the calendar turns to November.
With such a great start to the year, Allen joined Big Ten Network to talk about the growth of his team, his energy on the sidelines and the team’s success on both the offensive and defensive side of the football.
Allen says his sideline demeanor is no act, and that he’s that energetic and intense every day. He also talked about the addition of Kalen DeBoer and quarterback Peyton Ramsey sticking around, despite losing the starting job to Michael Penix Jr.
There was plenty to discuss on Thursday, as you can tell. Below is the clip BTN shared on Twitter:
"Takeaways, tackling and effort. Those are three things we install every single day as a program."
