Tom Allen updates Indiana's battle for LB spots in fall camp
Tom Allen is trying to put his mark on Indiana’s defense entering 2022. It has been one of his primary focuses this offseason, and the Hoosiers are looking for the right mix at the linebacker position.
On Tuesday, Allen updated the current battles for the 2-deep at linebacker. According to Allen, Miami transfer Bradley Jennings is battling with Aaron Casey for the starting “Ace” (Mike) linebacker spot for the Hoosiers. Cam Jones is anchored into the starting role at the “Stinger” position (Will linebacker) with Kentucky transfer Jerod Casey backing up Jones.
Allen said Bradley Jennings is battling back and forth with Aaron Casey for the starting job at the Mike or in IU’s case Ace linebacker. (Jerod Casey is backing up Cam Jones at Stinger, which is kind of a Will position.)

With Micah McFadden off to the NFL, it sounds like the Hoosiers have a solid mix of talent to work with at linebacker. In regards to Jerod Casey, Allen said he’s among the fastest players on Indiana’s roster.
Allen said Jerod Casey is one of the three fastest players on the entire defense.
