Tom Allen updates Indiana's QB situation heading into game vs. Rutgers
Indiana will aim to snap a five-game losing skid when the Hoosiers host Rutgers in Week 11. The Hoosiers, winless in conference play, haven’t won a game since Sept. 25 at Western Kentucky.
Indiana coach Tom Allen updated Indiana’s quarterback situation heading into the conference matchup on Thursday. Michael Penix Jr. has totaled 939 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions this season. Meanwhile, Jack Tuttle has registered 397 yards, 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
That duo has missed time with freshman Donaven McCulley getting most of the reps against Maryland and Michigan.
Here’s what Allen had to say about the availability of the quarterbacks, as well as an update on leading rusher Stephen Carr:
Allen said Penix and Tuttle have got more reps this week than last and “we will have multiple quarterbacks ready to play on Saturday.”

Tom Allen up for his Thursday Zoom call. Said Stephen Carr is still working his way back. Not sure if he’ll be available this week. Said David Holloman and Charlie Spegal have got more reps.

Allen says Tuttle is further along than Penix at this point, but says again that “the bottom line is multiple guys are going to be available to play quarterback on Saturday.”
