Indiana’s offense was clicking early in the first quarter.

The Hoosiers scored their first touchdown of the afternoon after Rutgers fumbled a punt fielded inside its own 10-yard line. Indiana scored on its second possession as well, this time on a long pass play from Richard Lagow to tight end Ian Thomas.

Thomas slipped past the Scarlet Knights defense and Lagow delivered the ball in stride. The tight end was then able to job his way into the end zone to give the Hoosiers a two-touchdown advantage early in the game.

The 57-yard touchdown reception was the second-longest play for Thomas this season.

Coming into the home finale, Thomas had 21 catches for 283 yards and four touchdowns. For Lagow, it was his 11th touchdown pass of the season.
