Despite some preseason hopes that Indiana would turn a corner on the gridiron this fall, the Hoosiers are still searching for their first B1G win of the season.

The chance of erasing that bagel this weekend won’t be easy, as IU hosts No. 9 Wisconsin, which enters the game with a perfect 8-0 record. Indiana, at 3-5, is 0-5 in conference play.

On Thursday afternoon, head coach Tom Allen talked about this week’s matchup and spoke on what Indiana needed to do in order to finally post a win in conference play.

First, Allen talked about what his team needed to do defensively.

“The key is getting off the field as a defense,” Allen said. “If you get them off schedule then you’ve got a chance.”

Allen then talked about his team’s mentality and how to keep a level head in the final month of the season.

“One week at a time,” he said. “The goal is to be 1-0 at the end of the day Saturday. To me, that’s the focus. Our guys have had tremendous resilience this week in practice.”

The Indiana head coach also talked about special teams play and dove a little deeper into what his defense needs to do in order to come away with a win against the Badgers.
