The Indiana defense has made huge strides ever since Tom Allen started calling the shots. And the Hoosiers got off to a solid start on that side of the ball on Saturday night.

Indiana opened the season on the road against Florida International, making IU one of the few B1G teams playing a road game in Week 1. But that didn’t bother Jonathan Crawford, who came up with an early pick-six to break a 7-7 tie in the first half.

The interception was ninth of Crawford’s career at Indiana.

Last year, Crawford had just one interception but tallied 62 tackles and recorded eight pass break-ups.
