Rob Phinisee is just 11 games into his career at Indiana, but he’s already on his way to becoming a legend in Bloomington.
Saturday afternoon, Indiana battled Butler in the annual Crossroads Classic. The 25th-ranked Hoosiers were hoping to add another signature win to their early season resumé. Thanks to the heroics of the freshman guard, IU got exactly that.
Phinisee drilled a buzzer-beating three-pointer as time expired at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, pushing Indiana to a 71-68 victory over Butler. And this wasn’t a standard shot the freshman buried, it was from long, long range.
There were plenty of angles of Phinisee’s game-winner, and Indiana fans will love every single win.
