What Tom Allen said after Indiana's loss to Ohio State
Indiana isn’t on the same level as No. 3 Ohio State — even the average Hoosier fan could acknowledge that.
So going into Saturday’s game, not many thought Indiana would hang around Ohio State for too long, but going into the fourth quarter, the Hoosiers only trailed by 9.
Ohio State would win the final 15 minutes by 14 points, leading to the 49-26 defeat. After the game, Indiana coach Tom Allen spoke with the media.
The Hoosiers are now 4-2 going into Week 7.
One of the topics Allen talked about was when his team was down by 9 late in the third quarter. After scoring a TD, he decided to go for two points to get a better feeling for what to go for later in the game.
Others think you should wait until you need to go for two points to actually do it:
Allen on 2-point attempt: "You wanted to get within seven points. You'd have to do it eventually. … That way you know exactly what you have to get next. I stand by that decision."

Tom Allen on offense: "We're growing. It's a process. … We've had some key players out on offense and other guys stepping up. Proud of our offensive staff."

Allen: "There are no moral victories. That's in the past. When you play a team of this caliber on the road, you have to take advantage of opportunities."

Allen on Ramsey: "He's a tough, hard-nosed kid. I believe in him. … He's become a better passer. He puts the ball where our guys can catch it."
